PM Narendra Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the nation, on his 153rd birth anniversary, October 2, in Delhi. Besides, PM Modi also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and shared a glimpse of 'Pradhanmantri Sangrahlaya', urging people to visit the museum. President Kovind Pays Tribute To Lal Bahadur Shastri On 117th Birth Anniversary
On the occasion of Lal Bahadur Shastri's 117th birth anniversary, President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral tribute at Vijay Ghat. Shastri was born in Uttar Pradesh's Mughalsarai district on October 2, 1904, and shared his birth date with Mahatma Gandhi. He entered politics as a satyagraha in Indian National Movement. Further, he became the Minister of Police and Transport on August 15, 1947, and the PM of India in 1964.

Gold Meant To Weigh Ex-PM Shastri Handed Over To GST Department

PM Modi To Attend Centenary Event Of AMU; First PM In 56 Years
While doing honours as the chief guest for Aligarh Muslim University's (AMU) centenary celebrations on December 22, PM Narendra Modi will set a unique feat. Interestingly, he will be the first PM in 56 years to participate in the varsity's program. Former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri was the last PM to have delivered a speech at the AMU. Reportedly, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will assist PM Modi in the event.
