Indian Govt To Invite Applications From Firms For Ethanol Projects
The Indian government on April 22, stated that it has decided to invite applications from firms for ethanol projects. The firms that have acquired land for ethanol projects, obtained environmental clearance to set up new distilleries or expansion of existing distilleries, are eligible for the government projects. The government is also planning to enhance the nation's ethanol production capacities and to achieve 20% blending by 2025.

Goa Government Demarcates IIT Project Land Despite Locals Protests
Despite ongoing protests, the Goa Government has demarcated land for the IIT campus on January 5 with heavy police deployment. Government Removes ‘Permanent Resident’ Criteria From J&K and Ladakh Land Law
In a revised law for Union Territories, centre has removed the ‘permanent resident’ criteria for purchase of land in J&K and Ladakh. Repealing some acts, Centre substituted sections of state's Land Acquisition and Forest Act.
