Violence Occurs In Howrah Over Creation Of COVID-19 Crematorium
Locals at Howrah's Bagnan area faced violence, lathi-charge and teargas firing from police over their attempt to resist the creation of a COVID-19 crematorium in the area on May 16. The ruling TMC blamed BJP for instigating the locals, saying that they couldn't turn Bengal into Uttar Pradesh where bodies are thrown into rivers. However, BJP refuted the claims saying it had nothing to do with the matter.
