Women's Reservation Bill Gets Approval Of President Murmu, Becomes Law

President of India Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Women's Reservation Bill, which has now become a law. Tabled by the BJP-led Central Government, the Women's Reservation Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha recently. After passing with a majority of 450 votes, the bill, ensuring 33% reservation for tirbals, SC/ST and OBC women in politics, was sent to the President of India for her approval.

CBI To Produce Manish Sisodia Before Delhi HC In Liquor Scam

Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia will be produced before the Delhi High Court, on March 4. He will be produced in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy scam, in which the CBI would demand an extension of Sisodia's judicial custody. Notably, a special CBI court remanded the AAP leader, the prime accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam. The court proceedings will begin at 2:00 pm, confirmed sources.

Indiana Lawmakers Impose Abortion Ban With Limited Exceptions

Indiana lawmakers enacted a near-total ban on abortion, with limited exceptions on August 5, becoming the first state in the US to do so since Supreme Court reversed the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. The Indiana statute was enacted with a few exceptions, such as rape and incest, and to safeguard the mother's life and physical condition. The treatment is now permitted till 22 weeks of pregnancy.

70-Year-Old Man Gets Opportunity To Earn LLM Degree Under DU's Centenary Chance Initiative

Rajesh Kumar Rawat, 70, has been given another chance to complete his Masters of Law (LLM) under the University of Delhi's "centenary chance" project. Rajesh dropped out of DU roughly 42 years ago. Mr. Rawat received his LLB from Lucknow and thereafter joined the CBI as an investigator. He was unable to complete his degree due to his frequent outstation postings while working with CBI.
