Bar Council Of India Approves Allows Foreign Law Practice In India
In a significant decision, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has opened law practice in India to foreign lawyers and law firms. SC Refers Same Sex Marriage To 5 Bench
Supreme Court reviewed the sam sex marriage issue, and referred all the pleas on same-sex marriage to a five-judge Constitution Bench. The case will be heard on April 18, confirmed sources. On March 13, a bunch of applications had been filed before Supreme Court which sought legal sanction for same-sex marriages. This is a developing story, more details are awaited.

SC Seeks Response From 11 States On Implementation Of RERA Rules Or Send Principal Secy To Explain
The Supreme Court has asked 11 states to file responses on the issues of implementing Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act. The apex court has given a time of four weeks to the state governments, and stated that if failed to file a response within the prescribed time, their principal secretaries incharge of housing departments must make personal appearances. Notably, the matter was heard by Justices Chandrachud and Hima Kohli.

SC Prohibits Commercial Activities Within 500 Metres Of Taj Mahal
In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court of India has directed the Agra Development Authority to immediately stop all the commercial activities within 500 metres radius of the Taj Mahal. Reportedly, the 500 metre radius is a “no construction zone”, and vehicular movements are also strictly regulated. Moreover, burning of wood, municipal solid waste and agricultural waste are also prohibited in the said area.

Supreme Court To Live-Stream Proceedings For First Time
For the first time, Supreme Court will reportedly live-stream its proceedings through a webcast portal, on August 26. However, it is not certain as to whether proceedings will continue to be live-streamed. This has come three years after the apex court ruled in favour of live-streaming the proceeding. The proceedings of the ceremonial bench bidding adieu to CJI NV Ramana will be live-streamed.
