Karnataka: Students Get Bail For Filming Student In Washroom

A magistrate court in Udupi on July 28, granted conditional bail to three female students accused of taking a video of another student in a college washroom. A case against the three students and the college management was registered by Malpe police on July 25.
On Friday the students surrendered before the Additional Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate First Class Court of Judge Shyam Prakash.

Gyanvapi Mosque Survey On Hold, SC Puts Stay Order

In a boost to Muslims, the Supreme Court has put a stay order on the survey of the ASI at the Gyanvapi Mosque, Uttar Pradesh. On July 24, the Top Court, heard the petition filed by the Gyanvapi Management Board and adjourned the matter.  Meanwhile, unlike the Varanasi High Court, the Apex Court stayed the survey till July 26, 5:00 P.M.

SC Rejects Plea Filed By 14 Opposition Parties

In a breaking news, the Supreme Court bench rejected the petition filed by opposition. Notably, on April 5, the Top Court rejected the plea filed by 14 non-BJP parties against the misuse of central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI.) The court during the hearing said, "Can't make seperate rules for politicians". The opposition parties withdrew the plea.

ED Issues Summon To Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav In Job Land Scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD party leader Tejashwi Yadav in connection with the land for jobs scam. Notably, on March 10, the ED and CBI visited Patna and questioned Bihar CM, in connection with the Job Land scam, under the tenure of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Now,  the CBI has stated that it has ample evidence against the RJD leader and hence summoned him for investigation.

SC Dismisses Misconceived Petition Demanding Ban On BBC Documentary

The Supreme Court bench dismissed an 'entirely misconceived' petition filed by Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta, demanding a ban on the BBC. SC Refuses To Entertain Plea Seeking To Declare Cow As National Animal

A PIL was filed before the Supreme Court of India seeking direction to the centre to declare cow as the national animal of India. The court warned the lawyer, stating that such suits are baseless, and that no fundamental right has been violated. With this, the petitioner withdrew the plea. “Is this the job of the court? Should we throw laws into the wind because you come?,” said the bench.
