National Lok Adalat Scheduled For November 12
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution announced that National Lok Adalat will be held on November 12 across the country. The Lok Adalat system will help disposing pending cases through mutual settlement between parties. The consumer commissions have been directed to make a list of cases which can possibly be settled. This list of pending cases will then be transferred to Lok Adalat.

Eleven PFI Workers Arrested & Sent To Judicial Custody By NIA Court
A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested eleven PFI workers and sent them to judicial custody for 21 days, on September 30. The PFI workers were reportedly arrested under the UAPA Act from different locations last week. The arrested persons were earlier sentenced to 7-day judicial custody, which ended on September 30. Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody Of AAP MLA In Waqf Board Case
A Delhi Court remanded Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan to 14 days' judicial custody on September 26. Plea Seeking Directions To Ensure Protection Of Doctors Against Attacks File In Supreme Court
Supreme Court will hear a plea seeking directions to authorities to ensure adequate protection is given to the doctors, will be heard on September 5. This has come after witnessing an increase in number of assaults on doctors. The plea also seeks directions to the centre and states to maintain a “distress fund”, which could be used to grant relief funds to the kin, in case a healthcare worker dies.

Masturbating In Presence Of Another Sufficient To Infer Sexual Intent: Mumbai Court
A Mumbai court, while hearing a case of child sex abuse, held that masturbation in the presence of another person is sufficient to infer sexual intent of an accused. With this, the court convicted a 60-year-old in the aforementioned child sex abuse case. A complaint filed under the POCSO Act states that, the accused flashed to the victim, while masturbating in front of him.

Judge Directs Twitter To Turn Over Elon Musk's Former Executive Papers
A court order dated August 15 requires Twitter must provide records from a former Twitter executive who Musk claims were a major player in determining number of false accounts on Twitter. Akshay Kumar And Ram Setu Film's Makers Lands In Legal Trouble
Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie 'Ram Setu' is in trouble prior to release, after BJP leader Subramanian Swamy announced to sue the actor and makers. On July 31, Swamy tweeted to seek compensation from the makers for the false portrayal of Ram Setu in the film, starring Akshay Kumar, Nushrat Barucha and Jacquelin Fednavis. He also took a dig at Akshay Kumar's Canadian citizenship and said he should be sent back.

Three Paperless Court To Function From Kerala HC, Starting August 1
In Kerala, three paperless courts will commence functioning in Kerala High Court from August 1. As per sources, all-in-one touch screen personal computers will be given to advocates for paperless works, including display of the case and case files. The work will be automatic with the case taken on board as initiated by the court officer and the advocate, confirmed officials on July 30.

Not Using Condom Without Consent Of Partner Is Crime: Canada Court
Canada's court ruled that removing condoms without the consent of a partner is a crime. On July 30, the Canadian court gave the verdict in a case filed by a woman, who predicated a contract with the accused whom she met online(2017) and had sex for physical compatibility. However, in one of the two times, the man allegedly didn't use condoms, due to which the woman contracted HIV treatment.

SC Lists Gyanvapi Mosque Plea For Hearing In October
The Supreme Court adjourned the Gyanvapi mosque case to the first week of October the case, on July 21. The matter was pending with the Supreme Court, which said to await the outcome of the case that is being heard by the District court, Varanasi, which was filed by the Anjuman Intezemia Masjid Committee challenging the survey of the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex in Varanasi where a 'Shivling' has been found.
