Netizens Raise Rs 13 Lakh To Rebuild Burnt Mysuru Library

Coming in support of Mysuru librarian Syed Issaq, whose library was burnt to ashes, the netizens have raised Rs 13 lakh to reconstruct his library. Reportedly, the private-run library was allegedly burnt by anti-Kannada miscreants on April 9. However, now social media has become a silver lining for the 62-year-old librarian, who was determined to rebuild it even alone. Reportedly, the library consisted 11,000 books on different religions.

Mysuru Library Having 3,000 Bhagavad Gita Copies Burnt By Miscreants

A private-run Mysuru library having 3,000 Bhagavad Gita copies was burnt by miscreants on April 9. Run by 62-year-old daily wage labourer Syed Issaq and located in Corporation park's shed, the library had 11,000 books in Kannada and Urdu. With the help of Kannada donors, Issaq also kept 11 daily newspapers in various languages. Filing a complaint, the police suspects that garbage dumped near the library caused the fire.

Maharashtra: Mobile Library Enables People To Increase Reading Habit

To instill the reading habit, a team of IT professionals and engineers have begun a mobile library in Maharashtra. With over 10 lakh majorly donated books, the 'Let's Read India' movement’s GPS-enabled vans can be tracked via its website and app. Moreover, with an aim to bring back people from social media to books, the mobile library mandates readers to submit a 300-word summary while returning the book issued.

PM Modi Suggests Creating Library To Conserve Buddhist Literature
