Spurious Liquor Claims 3 More Lives In Bihar's Bettiah District
Bihar government on November 5, reported three more deaths due to consuming "spurious liquor" in the Bettiah district, reaching the death toll to 13 in a month. As per the district magistrate's statement, seven people were hospitalized after allegedly consuming the poisonous liquor. Reportedly, the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has said that the government will be taking strict actions against the people who are involved.

UP: Kasganj Police Guns Down Man Allegedly Involved In Killing Cop
The UP Police on February 10 shot dead a liquor mafia kingpin’s brother in an encounter on the banks of Kali river in Kasganj. The deceased, identified as Elkar, was accused of killing a police constable and severely injuring a sub-inspector when they had reached the mafia, Moti’s, village on February 9 to hand a warrant. While Elkar was killed, the police has launched a look-out for his aides who escaped the encounter.
