A live-in couple, Geeta and her partner had filed a petition in the Allahabad HC in order to stop Geeta's husband & family members from interfering in their 'peaceful live-in relation'. However, the Court  rejected the plea and said, ''We fail to understand how such a petition can be allowed since it would be permitting illegality in the society." It is against the ''Hindu Marriage Act'', the bench added.
