BJP Leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani made remarks over the issued notice to Rahul Gandhi, asking him to vacate his government bungalow. Addressing the media, Irani said, "The house does not belong to him, it belongs to the common people." Notably, the Lok Sabha Housing committee issued notice, asking Gandhi to vacate his house by April 23, as a disqualified parliamentarian isn't entitled to government accommodation.

Rahul Gandhi Disqualified As Lok Sabha Member
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was today disqualified as a Member of Lok Sabha from the date of his conviction in the 2019 defamation case. The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification in this regard on March 24. The decision was taken under the Article 110 (1) (e) of the Indian Constitution, Representation of the People Act 1951. Meanwhile, the Congress conducted a meeting, expressing disappointment over Gandhi's conviction.
