LPG Cylinder Blasts In UP’s Loni; 4 Killed, 2 Injured

In Uttar Pradesh’s Loni, four persons have died and two others were injured following LPG cylinder blast in Babul Garden on October 5. The incident reportedly brought down a two-storey building. After receiving a call about the incident at around 10 am, police and fire department officials rushed to the spot. Bodies of six people were found buried in the debris, out of which, four were dead.

LPG Gas Cylinder Prices Hikes Again By Rs 50 In India, 8th Time In Year

Cooking gas LPG prices hiked for the fourth time since the Ukraine-Russia war, on July 6. The new prices with an increase of Rs 50 are at Rs 1,053 for non-subsidised LPG gas.  In the past one year, this is the eighth hike in prices, taking the total rise to Rs 244, or 30%. However, poor beneficiaries under Ujjwala connection will not pay the non-subsidized LPG prices.

Cylinder Blast Leaves 4 Dead & 2 Severely Injured In Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur, four people were killed and at least two others were severely injured in a cylinder blast, on May 28. Reportedly, the blast caused the walls to collapse, crushing the people inside the house. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was initiated and the injured persons have been rushed to a hospital for treatment. Further details on the matter is awaited.

Cooking Gas Cylinder Price Hiked By Rs 50

The price of a cooking gas cylinder has been hiked by fifty rupees. This marks the second such price hike in just a matter of a few days. A non-subsidised gas cylinder would now cost Rs 999.5. This gas price hike comes amid rising costs of petrol and diesel. The rise in gas and fuel prices is being chalked up to the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hiked By Rs 43.50 In India

Amid the financial crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the state-run oil companies has hiked the prices for the commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs 43.50 in the country on October 1. Following the price hike, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder costs Rs 1,736.50 in Delhi. However, the domestic LPG cylinders will remain constant at Rs 884.50 per cylinder in Delhi.

LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked By Rs 25.50; Effective From July 1

An unkind hike for consumers! Oil companies have increased the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 25, effective from July 1. In Delhi, the current selling prices of LPG cylinders rose to Rs 834.50. However, the cooking gas gets costlier in UP's Lucknow at Rs 872.50. Besides, the previous surge was noticed in February and March, however, the total amount increased is Rs 140.50 in 2021 so far.

Oil Secy Affirms Additional 1 Cr LPG Connections Under Ujjwala Scheme

Union Oil Secretary Tarun Kapoor has announced the government's plans to provide additional one crore free LPG connections in two years under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala (PMUY) scheme. To facilitate easy access, the government will proffer LPG connections with bare-minimum identity documents, besides not requiring proof of residence. Madhya Pradesh To Get Funds Through 'Cow Tax' For Welfare Of Animal

Aiming for cow-welfare, Madhya Pradesh's animal husbandry department has suggested levying 'cow tax' on fuel usage in the state. The department has proposed to charge 15 paise per litre on petrol and diesel, along with Rs 10 on gas cylinders. Reportedly, the tax estimates to fetch around Rs 200 crore a year. Interestingly, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have already laid 'cow tax' in their states.
