With the launch of iPhone 15 models in India, the recently opened Apple stores in Delhi and Mumbai are seeing crowds of people, especially crazy iPhone lovers. The iPhone 15, is selling for ₹79,900 in India,  iPhone 15 Pro is for ₹1,34,900 whereas the iPhone 15 Pro-Max is available at ₹1,59,900. Despite 'Made-in-India' iPhones are not cheap in India, as major parts are still imported, only assembled in India. 

PM Narendra Modi saluted the spirit of children who refused to play with foreign toys, expressing the true spirit of "Atmanirbhar India". Addressing the ramparts on the 76th Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi said, " I have heard from countless families that 5-7-year-old children tell their parents that they do not want to play with foreign toys." Notably, Atmanirbhar Bharat has been a major initiative of the Indian Government.

Apple is planning to start the production of iPhone 13 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. In addition, Apple's parent company Foxconn is currently making iPhone 12 in Sriperumbudur. The Sriperumbudur plant was closed in December 2021 after 250 workers fell ill with food poisoning. After which, the company had implemented necessary safety measures and fixed loopholes to re-open it in 2022.

The Government of India is planning to build an Operating System (OS) as an alternative to Google's Android and Apple's iOS. The government is trying to frame policies that will facilitate an ecosystem for the industry to come up with such an OS, stated Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and IT. Meanwhile, India is planning to increase its electronics manufacturing to $300 billion in the next five years.

While speaking at a media Conclave, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on October 8 said he has asked Tesla ''don't sell electric cars in India'' which is manufactured in China by it. However, he also said the government would provide all the support if Tesla would manufacture its iconic electric vehicles in India. Besides, Gadkari informed everyone we are considering Tesla's demand for a reduction in taxes.
