Principal Burnt Alive By Ex-Student In Indore, MP

In Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Vimukta Sharma (54) woman principal of BM College of Pharmacy, was critically injured after an ex-student allegedly poured petrol on her and set her ablaze. The incident occurred on February 20, when ex-student Ashutosh Shrivastava (24) set ablaze her over marksheet issue. The victim suffered serious 80% burn injuries and is said to be in a critical condition at hospital.

IAF Lands To India With 12 Cheetahs From South Africa

Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper airlifts 12 cheetahs from South Africa, on February 18. Five male and seven female big cats landed in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park (KNP.) These big cats will be released into the KNP by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union minister Bhupender Yadav. The cheetahs from South Africa sent to KNP will be in quarantine enclosures.

India To Bring 10 Cheetahs From South Africa

The C-17 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) left India on February 16 morning, to bring the 12 cheetahs from South Africa. The National Tiger Conservation Authority official said, the cheetahs will arrive in India on February 18. Environment minister Bhupendra Yadav said that as many as 10 quarantine enclosures have been created at Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park for 12 cheetahs being flown in from South Africa.

Church Torched In MP Village, Case Registered Against Unidentified Goons

A group of unidentified people torched and defiled a church in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, confirmed police on February 13. Sources said, locals found burnt furniture inside, walls blackened with smoke from the fire, and 'Ram' written on the wall inside the Christian prayer hall in Chauki Pura. The incident trigger outrage amongst the Christian community. Furthermore, a case was filed under Section 29 of the IPC.

Madrasa Owner Molests Minor Student In Indore: Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, a 50-year-old owner of a Madrasa has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old girl student, informed police on October 10. The two sons of the accused have also been booked after they allegedly assaulted the girl’s kin who went to complain about the matter. According to the complaint, the accused called the victim to a separate room and touched her inappropriately.

In Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park, the government has introduced “super sniffer” dog squad to protect the newly introduced Namibian cheetahs from poachers. Notably, five-month-old German Shepherd ‘Ilu’, is undergoing training at Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force’s National Training Centre, and will soon join the “super sniffer” dog squad. This is to protect the cheetahs from wildlife traffickers, and poachers.

In Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, two former students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) have been arrested for allegedly filming obscene video of a student, and blackmailing her. The accused have been identified as Aryan (24) and Khusboo Thakur (25), and a third accused Rahul Yadav is absconding. Reportedly, the victim, a 19-year-old girl, was filmed while changing dress. The trio demanding Rs 10,000 and threatened to release the video.

Namibia Returnees Cheetahs Being Monitored In MP's Kuno National Park

Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park experts are monitoring the eight cheetahs brought from Namibia, who are trying to acclimatise to the new environment in India. On September 20, wildlife experts said they are monitoring from hole in a loft near their quarantine enclosures to ensure the least human intervention. There are five female and three male Cheetahs, aged between 30 to 66 months and are in good condition, said DFO.

PM Modi Releases 8 Cheetahs In Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park

Cheetahs have officially been reintroduced in India, with PM Modi releasing the eight imported cheetahs into the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on September 17, on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday. Cheetahs were declared extinct in India in 1952, but has not been imported from Africa’s Namibia, as part of Indian government’s “Project Cheetah”. Reportedly, the cheetahs were transported to Gwalior in a cargo aircraft.
