1 Crore Devotees Expected To Take Holy Dip In Sangam On Mauni Amavasya

Over one crore devotees will take a holy dip in the Sangam in Prayagraj, on February 1. Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the fair is being held with strict observance of Covid-19 protocols. The Mela administration has divided the fair area into five sectors. Two 50-bed hospitals, 12 health camps, and 10 treatment centres have been set up. Notably, Mauni Amavasya falls on the moonless day of Magh month.

UP Govt To Allow Only Vaccinated People At Annual Magh Mela 2022

UP's Annual Magh Mela, scheduled in Jan 2022 will be open only for fully vaccinated people, said UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Considering the rising COVID cases the devotees with a double or single dose of vaccine will only be allowed. However, all the arrangements have been made for the Mela including, RT-PCR tests and Covid-19 vaccination centers. Moreover, the govt has sanctioned Rs 59 crores for the fest.
