Nawab Malik's Security Beefed Up After Threat Calls: Drug Case

The Maharashtra government beefed up the security of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Nawab Malik after he complained he was ''getting threatening calls'', sadi Malik on October 14. Malik alleged he received many threat calls after the press conference conducted by him on the NCB's raid on the cruise ship. Reportedly, the NCB arrested Malik's son-in-law in July during a raid in connection with a drug peddling case.

Maharashtra Woman Kills Husband To Live With Boyfriend, Claim His Job

Maroti Karke, an employee of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Maharashtra was killed by his 25-year-old wife Prajakta who allegedly united with her boyfriend and her mother to murder him and claim his job. Reportedly, Prajakta was disturbed by Karke's alcoholic behavior and wanted to spend her life with her boyfriend Sanjay Tikle, who happened to be her sister's brother-in-law. Police have arrested six people in connection to the case.

Maharashtra Declares SSC Class10th Results; 99.5% Pass Rate

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHS) has declared the 10th SSC results on their official website on July 16. The state has attained a 99.5% passing rate, the highest in the last seven years. A total of 16.2 lakh candidates have appeared for the exam. Konkan division witnessed a 100% highest pass rate followed by Nagpur division with 99.5%.

Maharashtra To Keep Existing Lockdown Measures Intact Till November 30

Owing to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Maharashtra government on October 29 decided to keep the existing lockdown measures intact till November 30. However, the government has earlier this month permitted hotels and bars to operate at 50% capacity. It also requested zonal railways to resume a limited number of suburban trains. Maharashtra is the worst affected state with over 130,286 active cases and at least 43,554 deaths.
