Maharashtra Floods: Death Toll Reaches 112, 99 Still Missing

The death toll in the Maharashtra flood has reached 112 with 99 still missing and 53 injured as the numbers will likely rise with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) still locating more bodies. "Government will carry out rehabilitation measures,’’ CM Uddhav Thackeray said. Districts like Ratnagiri and Raigad were allowed Rs 2 crore while other affected districts were given Rs 50 lakh each from the State Disaster Response Fund.

PM Modi Ensures To Mitigate Arising Flood Situations In Maharashtra

PM Narendra Modi assured Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray that the Centre would provide all possible assistance to alleviate the havoc caused in various parts of the state due to heavy rains and floods. PM Modi in a tweet said, “Assured all possible support from the Centre to mitigate the situation. Praying for everyone's safety and well-being.” Besides, CM notified that rescue operations and possible measures are being taken.
