Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has been announced as the President of the Shiv Sena. After the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced 'bow & arrow' symbol and Shiv Sena party name to Eknath Shinde led faction. Although, the Uddhav Thackeray filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC,) against the ECI decision, demanding a stay order. However, the Top Court refused to issue stay order on the ECI order.

Opposition parties attacked Shinde Fadnavis's administration on August 18 for failing to provide immediate financial help to farmers and villages hit by severe rains and floods in Maharashtra. The Shiv-Sena rebel Eknath Shinde claimed the support of over 50 MLAs, including 40 Shiv-Sena MLAs. On June 24, the fourth day of the Maharashtra Political crisis, Shinde addressed the media from Assam and dismissed the warning of coming to Mumbai. "We are not scared by such threats... Whatever we are doing is absolutely legal. We have the affidavits of all the MLAs, they have joined us voluntarily," said Shinde.
