In Maharashtra's Goregaon region, the police had to be summoned when the parents protested against the reported refusal of the management to provide them with leaving certificates and report cards of their children. The MN English High School many parents started a protest against the management, and filed a complaint of mental torture aginst the management with the police. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. 

The Maharashtra Police released a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed mandatorily in rape cases investigation. A tuition teacher has been arrested in Faridabad, for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old girl, confirmed police on May 23. Hailed from Maharashtra, the tuition teacher and the girl went missing on May 1, following which the victim's family filed an FIR. As per the report, the accused's mobile number was tracked in Faridabad, and was later arrested the accused and rescued the girl. A case has been registered for investigation.

Tulshiram Narge (45) has been booked under Section 307 of the IPC, said Maharashtra Police, on March 2. Tulshiram was stalking a woman and entered  her house when she was alone, reported PTI. He tried to take advantage, but the victim protested. After which, the accused attacked her with a sickle. Furthermore, the accused is currently absconding, whereas the victim is undergoing treatment at hospital.  

Maharashtra police authorities on November 14 confirmed top fugitive Maoist Milind Baburao Teltumbde among 26 others killed in an encounter in Gadchiroli district on November 13. Hailing from Rajur village Milind carried a bounty of Rs 50 lakh on his head. He's reported to have been instrumental in the growth of the outlawed movement in Maharashtra. Reportedly, six women maoist were also killed in a gunfight near the Chattisgarh border.
