Mumbai Youth Kills Mother Over Suspicion Of Black Magic: Maharashtra
The Mumbai police registered a murder case against a youth (25) for murdering his mother over suspicion of black magic against him. On June 6, the police said Wadala resident allegedly murdered his mother Nirmala Thakur (42) with his girlfriend and 15-year-old brother. The matter came to light after Nirmala's husband came to the home and found her wife dead, and immediately rushed to the police, who registered an FIR.

BJP Leader Devendra Fadnavis Tests Covid-19 Positive, Isolates Himself: Maharashtra
Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP leader in Maharashtra, tested positive for Covid-19, on June 5. He has isolated himself at his residence and taking precautions as per the doctor's advice. Fadnavis took to Twitter and said, "Those who came in contact with me are advised to get the Covid-19 test done. Take care everyone". Furthermore, this is the second time that Devendra was Covid-19 positive, the first was in October 2020.

Maharashtra Man Kills Wife Amid Character Suspicion
Suspicious about their wife's character, Rahul Nagar resident (50) killed his wife. On June 5, the Maharashtra police said, the victim was found dead in her house, which was locked outside. Notably, the man used a heavy utensil and then locked the house from the outside. Moreover, woman's daughter went for some work and didn't find her mother. Later, she informed the relative, and the case was registered.

In Maharashtra 30-Year-Old Arrested For Setting Fire To Chowki
In Maharashtra, a 30-year-old man identified as Sunny Sadanand Kadam has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a police chowki on the evening of May 2. Notably, Kadam's action was in reaction to an offence registered against him at Mira Road Police Limits. After police personnel doused the fire, they registered a case under sections 435 and 506 of the IPC.

BEST Bus Drivers On Strike Over Pending Salaries Affecting Commuters: Maharashtra

NCP Leader Nawab Malik's Custody To ED Extended Till April 22
A special PMLA court extended the judicial custody of NCP leader Nawab Malik to the Enforcement Directorate till April 22. Notably, NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Malik has been accused of money laundering and connection with the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, which is being investigated by ED. Furthermore, this is the fourth time the PMLA court extended his custody. Meanwhile, the SC also agreed to list Malik's bail plea.

COVID-19 Vaccination Centres To Remain Closed On April 14: BMC
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that all the COVID-19 vaccination centers will remain closed in Mumbai, on April 14. Notably, in Mumbai vaccination centers, India-made Covishield and Covaxin vaccines are being given to the people. The majority of the population, including 100% adult population are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 infection. The vaccination drives will resume from April 15, morning.

Heatwave Alert In Maharashtra After Heatstroke Kills 4 People
Maharashtra Health Department expressed concern over surge in temperature, and heatwaves, which killed four people in the state. State surveillance officer Dr Pradip Awate said they have issued guidelines on drawing up a heat action plan and circulated amongst people to follow. Furthermore, the cooling rooms were also set up in the State, which reported highest temperature in March itself. The officials also advised people to be cautious.

No Fines For Not Wearing Face Masks In Maharashtra
Came as a relief to citizens of Maharashtra, that the Maha-Vikas-Aghadi Government announced to lift all COVID-19 curbs in the State. While there are no restrictions like night curfew, social distancing, and other protocols, wearing a face mask has been made optional. With this, no individual roaming without mask on street will be fined by the State police. Notably, there will be no COVID-19 restrictions in Maharashtra from April 2.
