First Ever 3D Printed Runway Controller Built In Pune Airforce Station: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra’s Pune, using the 3D printing technology, a 3D printed runway controller hut has been set up at the Airforce station, making it the one of a kind. The structure was reportedly made in 30 days, and includes a 3D printed concrete foundation and wall panels, besides the ground floor roof using precast technology. The hut is crucial for providing vital inputs to the Duty Air Traffic Control Officer.

Raids Conducted Across 6 States To Crackdown PFI; 75 Taken Into Preventive Custody
Police along with investigating agencies conducted raids in another major crackdown against Popular Front of India (PFI) on September 27. Reportedly, the raids are being conducted in Assam, Karnataka, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Over 75 PFI and SDPI workers have been taken into preventive custody. Furthermore, cases have been booked under Sections 108 and 151 of CrPC.

Final Year Medical Student Hangs Herself To Death In Mumbai: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra’s Mumbai, a final year medical student allegedly hanged herself to death at her residence in Agripada area, informed police on September 24. The victim has been identified as Shreyasa Pathkar, who took her life when she was home alone. According to the police, no suicide notes have been recovered from the spot, and the body has been sent for postmortem.

BJP’s Maharashtra Unit Demands Ban On PFI
BJP’s Maharashtra unit has demanded for the ban on Popular Front of India (PFI) for its alleged involvement in anti-national work in the country. Maharashtra’s BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that he will speak to CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis about the same. This has come after slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad” were raised during one of PFI’s protests in Pune.

Malaria Cases Increase By 62% & Dengue Cases By 16%: Mumbai
In Maharashtra’s Mumbai, Malaria cases have gone up drastically by 62% and Dengue cases by 16%. From here, experts believe that the cases will only increase in the coming days. Between September 5 and 11, the number of Malaria cases stood at 118, and Dengue cases at 51. Between September 12 and 18, Malaria cases rose to 191 and Dengue cases to 59. Meanwhile, Hepatitis cases jumped to 31.

Mumbai Airport Handles 1,30,374 Passengers In 24 Hours, Highest Since Pandemic
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) handled 1,30,374 passengers in 24 hours on September 17, making it the highest since the beginning of the pandemic. The growth in footfall is reportedly due to rising flight movements, newer destinations and an increase in airline’s capacity. Also, on September 17, CSMIA witnessed 839 total flight movements. BMC Starts Construction Process Of 2 Bridges In Maharashtra
The BMC has started the process of construction of two important bridges that were announced in the 2022 - 23 civic budget. Notably, work on Juhu Vile Parle Development (JVPD) bridge is expected to start within a month, whereas the other bridge proposed to decongest Western Express Highway (WEH) will take some time, confirmed BMC. For the bridge construction, the State Government is to release Rs 350 crore.

FDA Cancels Manufacture Of Baby Powder By J&J In Mumbai Plant Over Quality Standards
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cancelled manufacturing of baby powder by Johnson and Johnson (J&J)’s in Mumbai's Mulund plant on Thursday as samples were unable to meet the standard quality parameter. The product may affect the health of the skin of the babies and has been recalled from the market. "For the safety of the public, we have cancelled the licence,” said an FDA official.

Several Parts Of Mumbai Waterlogged Following Heavy Downpour: Maharashtra
Following heavy rainfall, several parts of the city of Mumbai have been waterlogged, as of September 13. The situation was at its very worst in Mumbai’s Simon area, with water levels extremely high, disturbing life. Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an “yellow alert” to Mumbai, and adjourning places like Pune, Thane, Raigad and Phalgar. Since June 1 to August 12, over 120 persons have lost their lives.
