AP Family Serves 365 Dishes To Son-In-Law, Video Goes Viral

A family in Andhra Pradesh went viral on social media for making 365 dishes for future son-in-law. On January 17, Achanta Govind and Nagamoni, organised the huge feast on January 14, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in West Godavari. The grand feast include, 30 types of curries, biriyani, pulihora, 100 different types of dishes, deserts, ice-creams, pastries and other items. The grand gesture is being appreciated by netizens.

Banned Nylon Manjha Slit Man's Throat In Telangana

In a bone-chilling incident, a man named Bhimaya, died after a banned glass-coated Manjha, slit his throat, on January 14 , Makar Sakranti. The man was riding a motorcycle with his wife when the incident happened. Reportedly, the wife had severe and Bhimaya died on spot. The police has sent victim's body for an autopsy and registered a case. Notably, the nylon coated thread bas been banned by NGT.

Haridwar Bans Holy Ganga Dip On 'Makar Sankranti' Amid Covid-19 Surge

Amid rising cases of Covid-19, the Haridwar administration has banned holy Ganga dip on the occasion of 'Makar Sankranti' i.e., January 14. "Night curfew will also be imposed from 10 pm to 6 am," ordered the District Magistrate. Residents of the state will also not be allowed in the area of 'Har Ki Podi'. However, under Epidemic Disease Act 1879, action will be taken if anyone violates the above norms.
