Government Approves Domestic Manufacturing Of Air Conditioners, LED Lights
The government has approved the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme worth Rs 6,238 crore for air conditioners, LED lights sectors on April 7. Reportedly, the companies engaged in the manufacturing of ACs and LED lights will benefit by 4-6% increment on sales of goods manufactured in India for five years. The nationwide scheme will increase domestic manufacturing, said the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra has successfully developed the world’s first flexible bulletproof jacket 'Shakti' that be worn by both women and men. The universal ballistic jacket has been designed to absorb the impact of bullets and reduce their penetration to the human torso. Earlier, Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik had appreciated the vest that is capable of protecting the personnel from explosives.

Army Displays India's First Native Machine Pistol 'ASMI'
India’s first native machine pistol ASMI was displayed at the Indian Army’s innovation exhibition on January 13. The indigenously developed gun has been built in collaboration between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Army. Compared to the Israeli Uzi guns, ASMI can fire at a range of 100 metres. ASMI would be likely inducted to replace the 9mm pistols employed in the defence forces.

Micromax Makes A Comeback In Smartphone Market With 2 New Models
