TMC Sports Minister Laxmi Ratan Shukla Steps Down From Post

Cricketer-politician Laxmi Ratan Shukla has stepped down as West Bengal Sports Minister on January 5. As per reports, Shukla took the decision since he wanted to stay away from politics. Moreover, he has resigned from the Trinamool Congress' Howrah District's President post as well. However, he will continue to be the MLA of Howrah Uttar. BJP Blames TMC For Setting Party Office On Fire; TMC Rejects Claim

The BJP has blamed West Bengal’s TMC government for putting its Barrackpore office in the North 24 Parganas district on fire. A local BJP leader from Barrackpore, Tapan Biswas, said the TMC workers carried out the act since disgruntled TMC MLA Shilbhadra Dutta has joined the BJP. TMC Leader Accuses State Govt Of Not Allowing Funds From Centre
