West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee To Meet NCP Chief Sharad Pawar In Mumbai
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on December 1 in Mumbai. Mamata is on a three-day visit to Maharashtra. Before meeting the NCP chief she already met with Shiv Sena leaders Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut on November 30. Thackeray said, "We welcome her to Mumbai. There has always been a friendship. We came to carry forward that friendship".

WB BJP Criticizes Banerjee After Goddess Durga Idol resembles CM
Owing to the upcoming festival, several samitis of WB have finalized to create Goddess Durga's idol resembling the CM Mamata Banerjee. Criticizing the idea, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari said, “When someone tries to elevate you to God’s stature only to please you and your silence indicates consent, it means your ego has reached a point where conscience can’t hold it accountable.”

Election Commission Removes Bengal's Top Police Officer Before Polls
The Election Commission on February 27 replaced West Bengal ADG Police (law and order) Jawed Shamim with 1991-batch IPS Jag Mohan. Mohan will also be the state police nodal officer. Bengal BJP Urges EC To Deploy CAPF, Special Observers For Polls
