CM Mamata Banerjee Set To Visit Delhi Ahead Of Winter Session
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is set to arrive in Delhi on her four-day visit, starting from November 22. Her visit will take place a few days before the parliamentary winter session, which is scheduled to begin on November 29. Earlier in July, she also made a visit to the capital. Meanwhile, she had met PM Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi, and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Election Commission Gives notice to Sayantan Basu over Inflammatory Speech
The Election Commission of India on April 15 gave notice to BJP leader Sayantan Basu following inflammatory remarks over the Cooch Behar CRPF firing incident at a poll rally in Baranagar. The remarks were in violation of the model code of conduct and provisions of the Representation of the People Act. In addition, the body gave a deadline of 24 hours to explain his stand.

WB Govt Launches 'Maa' Scheme; Offers Healthy Meal At Rs 5 For Poor
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched 'Maa' scheme to provide healthy meals at a nominal price of Rs 5/meal to poor people. The scheme launched ahead of assembly polls provisions to offer budget meal from 1 pm-3 pm daily through kitchens operated by self-help groups. Christened after the TMC’s slogan of ‘Ma, Mati, Manush’, the scheme will provide rice, dal, vegetable, and egg curry.

WB Govt Plans To Give Rs 10,000 For School Students To Buy Tabs
The West Bengal government has decided to transfer Rs 10,000 to the bank accounts of 9.5 lakh students of class 12 to buy smart devices for online learning. Earlier, the state government had decided to give smart tablets to students. However, the idea has been dropped since they could not procure numerous devices within a short period. CM Mamata Banerjee has assured the grant would be transferred within three weeks.

गृहमंत्री अमित शाह पहुंचे बंगाल, टीएमसी पर नाम लिए बिना साधा निशाना
गृहमंत्री अमित शाह दो दिन के दौरे पर पश्चिम बंगाल पहुंचे हैं। उन्होंने मेदिनीपुर पहुंच कर हबीबपुर इलाक़े में शहीद खुदीराम बोस के परिजनों से मुलाकात की है। गृह मंत्री ने टीएमसी का नाम लिए बिना उसे ओछी राजनीति करने से बाज आने को कहा। अमित शाह ने कहा कि “यह मेरा सौभाग्य है कि मुझे शहीद खुदीराम बोस की जन्मभूमि की मिट्टी से तिलक करने का मौका मिला है। आजादी की लड़ाई में बंगाल और उसके सपूतों के योगदान को भुलाया नहीं जा सकता।

West Bengal: Rebel TMC MLA Jitendra Tiwari Rejoins Party
Days after exiting the TMC, rebel MLA Jitendra Tiwari on December 18 rejoined the party. Confirming the news, minister Aroop Biswas said, "Tiwari was in the party and will be in the party." Earlier, Tiwari had left the TMC citing he was "not allowed to work for the people." BJP National President JP Nadda Allegedly Attacked; Blames WB's Govt
BJP National President J P Nadda along with several other party members were attacked in car with bricks, sticks and stones on December 10. According to the reports, Nadda along with its fleet were on the way to Diamond Harbour in Kolkata, while the incident happened.
