Arsenal signed Manchester City forward player Gabriel Jesus, in $ 54 million, on July 4. The Brazil international welcomed Jesus, who scored 95 goals in 236 games over nearly six seasons at City and won the Premier League four times, League Cup three times and the FA Cup.  "We spoke a couple of times about the club, the players, the project and the future," said Jesus.

French Footballer Benjamin Mendy was arrested by the police on August 26 and been charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City has acknowledged that the team got nervous while playing against Leicester City in the ongoing Premier League. The comment came after Leicester defeated Man City 5-2. Guardiola said, "We played for 30 minutes so good...But then we started to believe we were not playing well when it was the opposite." Manchester City will now take on Leeds United on October 3.
