Karnataka Govt Mandates Singing National Anthem In Schools, Colleges
Karnataka Government mandates singing the "national anthem" in schools and colleges in the State. The order dated August 17 is applicable to all government, aided and private schools and pre-university colleges. The order cites Section 133(2) of the Karnataka Education Act, which gives the government the power to issue directions, making singing the national anthem mandatory for school students during the mass prayers every morning.
