Dr Manik Saha To Take Oath As Tripura CM

Manik Saha is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Tripura. On March 8, Saha will administer the oath of the office as the CM of Tripura, for a second term. Notably, the BJP-elected Saha will take oath at Raj Bhavan, in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other BJP leaders. Swearing-in ceremony will be held at Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.

Tripura CM Manik Saha Will Take Oath As MLA On July 8

Tripura CM Manik Saha, who won the by-election from Town Bardowali assembly seat, is scheduled to take oath as MLA on July 8, confirmed Tripura Speaker Ratan Chakraborty on July 4.  Furthermore, Saha also submitted his resignation as MP of Rajya Sabha to Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, after he won as the MLA. Notably, in May, Manik Saha became the first BJP CM of Tripura.

11 MLAs Swear In As Cabinet Ministers In Tripura

In Tripura's newly formed Manik Saha led government, eleven MLAs sworn in as cabinet ministers, on May 16. Out of the eleven, nine were BJP MLAs and 2 were from IPFT. Governor SN Arya administered the oath taking ceremony. Reportedly, the portfolios of the cabinet ministers will be announced later. Sushanta Chowdhury, shortly after taking oath, said the new cabinet ministers would "fulfill the dreams" of former CM Biplab Deb.

BJP's Manik Saha Wins Tripura Rajya Sabha Polls

In Tripura Rajya Sabha election, BJP State President Manik Saha was elected as the MP, after winning the elections. A total of 55 MLAs of the 60 member seat casted their votes on March 31.  Of the 55 MLAs' votes, 40 including 33 of the BJP voted for Manik. Notably, two candidates Manik Saha and  Bhanu Lal Saha were in the fray for the Tripura MP elections.
