Manipur Police Arrest 2 Youths In Murder, Abduction Case
Team of Manipur Police and the Indian Army, in a joint operation, have arrested four persons, who are being held responsible for the murder of two youths -- Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi – who were abducted in July. The disturbing images of the slain youths – one of them a NEET aspirant – had gone viral, leading to widespread protests in the state capital Imphal. Investigation is underway.

3 Manipur Tribals Shot Dead By Terror Groups
Three tribals belonging to the Kuki-Zo community were shot dead on September 12 morning allegedly by militants of banned terror groups in Kangpopki district in Manipur, officials said here. They said the assailants came in a vehicle and attacked the villagers between the Ireng and Karam areas located in the bordering areas of Imphal West and Kangpopki districtsThis village is located in the hills, dominated by the tribal people.

No Action Against Editors Guild Of India In Manipur Violence FIR: SC
The Supreme Court on September 11, extended till September 15 its order asking the Manipur Police not to take any coercive steps against four members of the Editors Guild of India (EGI) in connection with two FIRs lodged against them for alleged offences, including promoting enmity between two communities. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said the operation has been extended until the next hearing on September 15.

Manipur Violence: CM Biren Singh To Meet State Governor At 3 PM
Amid the rumours of resignation, Manipur CM is scheduled to meet the State Governor on June 30, 3:00 P.M. Notably, the planned meeting came amid the ongoing violence between ethnic groups, resulting in a deadly protest-like situation in Manipur. Manipur CM N Biren Singh will meet Governor Anusuiya Uikey and is expected to hand over his resignation to the Governor. However, an official announcement on the matter is awaited.

Amit Shah Meets Women Leader During His Manipur Visit

Union Minister Amit Shah On 4-Day Visit To Manipur
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Monday arrive in Manipur on a four-day visit during which he will hold several rounds of security meetings to assess the situation and plan steps to restore normalcy, sources said. This is Shah's first visit to the northeastern state since the ethnic clashes broke out on May 3. The home minister will be in the state from May 29 to June 1.

Amit Shah To Visit Violence Hit Manipur, Assures Justice
Reacting to the recent Manipur violence, resulting in the death of one person, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, appealed for peace. In a media briefing, Shah said, "I will go to Manipur soon and stay there for three days but before that, both groups should remove mistrust and suspicion among themselves and ensure that peace is restored in the state." Furthermore, he assured justice and asked people to keep faith.

Fake Currency & Drug Racket Busted In Manipur’s Imphal
In Manipur’s Imphal, a fake currency racket has been busted by Imphal East police, which was functioning at Urup Kangthak and Keirao villages. From the raid, the police recovered 3,790 suspected World is Yours (WY) drugs, 60 grams of heroin, 26 bundles, 89 numbers of 500 fake currency notes and 101 numbers of 500 fake currency uncut sheets. Further information on the matter is awaited.
