Opposition INDIA Submits Memorandum To President: Manipur Assault
Opposition bloc INDIA submitted a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu over their demand for PM Narendra Modi's statement in Parliament on the Manipur issue. They also demanded that the prime minister visit the strife-torn state to restore peace. In the memorandum submitted to the President, 31 leaders of the opposition bloc also raised the issue of communal tension in Haryana's Nuh and alleged the Central government's negligence.

SC Reviews Plea Filed By 2 Victims In Manipur Assault Case
The incident of two women being paraded naked came to light on May 4, then why did it take 14 days for the Manipur police to register the FIR", a SC bench led by CJI Chandrachud asked on July 31. Moreover, the court sought information on the current count of individuals arrested in connection. The proceedings occurred when the court reviewed a plea filed by the two victims.

Manipur Assault Survivors Demand Protection Of Identity, Moves SC
In the recent development, the Manipur Violence & assault survivors moved to the Supreme Court and filed a petition, demanding protection of their identities. According to sources, the Apex Court is scheduled to hear the plea filed by the survivors. The Top Court bench will also review the plea of the Central Government, demanding the trail of the May 4 Manipur Viral Video assault to be conducted outside violence-hit Manipur.

Anurag Thakur Slams Opposition For Manipur Visit, Says "Just An Eyewash"
Union Minister Anurag Thakur came down heavily on the opposition delegation, for their visit to Maipur, after the viral Manipur assault. Notably, on July 28, a team of 16 members decided to visit Manipur. Reacting to it, the BJP leader and Union Minister Thakur said, "The visit is just an eyewash. The opposition alliance never spoke up when Manipur burned under previous government." The clashes over Manipur is still underway.

The opposition party leaders decided to send a delegation to Manipur, in regard to the recently viral Manipur assault against women. Those travelling to Manipur include Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, Gaurav Gogoi and Phulo Devi Netam from the Congress; Lalan Singh and Anil Hegde from JDU; TMC’s Sushmita Dev; Kanimozhi from the DMK; CPI’s Santhosh Kumar; CPI(M)’s AA Rahim; RJD’s Manoj Jha; Javed Ali Khan from the Samajwadi Party.

Union Home Ministry To Refer Manipur Assault Case To CBI
In breaking news, the Union Home Ministry has decided to refer the viral Manipur Violence and sexual assault against two women to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI.) The decision was taken on July 27, after several hue-cry, ruckus created by the opposition leaders in the ongoing Monsoon Parliament session. Meanwhile, in the matter the northeastern police has made six arrests so far, and accused are yet to be arrested.

BSF Jawan Caught Assaulting Woman In Grocery Store In Manipur
A head constable of the Border Security Force (BSF), caught sexually assaulting a woman on camera inside a grocery store in ethnic strife-torn Manipur last week, has been suspended by the border guarding force. A case has been filed against him. The footage from a CCTV camera inside the store shared widely on social media, in which constable Satish Prasad was assaulting a woman.
