Amit Shah Meets Women Leader During His Manipur Visit
Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with the women leaders in Manipur. The four-day visit, which started on May 29 was in view of the recent violent attack and killing of people over a fight between communities. "Held a meeting with a group of women leaders (Meira Paibi) in Manipur. Reiterated the significance of the role of women in the society of Manipur," said Shah.

Union Minister Amit Shah On 4-Day Visit To Manipur
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Monday arrive in Manipur on a four-day visit during which he will hold several rounds of security meetings to assess the situation and plan steps to restore normalcy, sources said. This is Shah's first visit to the northeastern state since the ethnic clashes broke out on May 3. The home minister will be in the state from May 29 to June 1.

Amit Shah To Visit Violence Hit Manipur, Assures Justice
Reacting to the recent Manipur violence, resulting in the death of one person, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, appealed for peace. In a media briefing, Shah said, "I will go to Manipur soon and stay there for three days but before that, both groups should remove mistrust and suspicion among themselves and ensure that peace is restored in the state." Furthermore, he assured justice and asked people to keep faith.

Fake Currency & Drug Racket Busted In Manipur’s Imphal
In Manipur’s Imphal, a fake currency racket has been busted by Imphal East police, which was functioning at Urup Kangthak and Keirao villages. From the raid, the police recovered 3,790 suspected World is Yours (WY) drugs, 60 grams of heroin, 26 bundles, 89 numbers of 500 fake currency notes and 101 numbers of 500 fake currency uncut sheets. Internet Suspended, Section 144 Imposed In Manipur Over Security Concerns
Internet has been suspended for five days, and section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Manipur over law and order concerns. The move has come after an incident in Bishnupur district, where an eco van was set ablaze in the Phougakchao lkhang area by three-four youths. The internet has been suspended to counter "rumor-mongers", and stop the spread of hatred and photos through social media.

People From Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur Extend Support To Naga Solidarity Walk
To support the Global Naga Forum (GNF) organised a two-day Naga Solidarity walk, hundreds of Nagas from Assam, Arunachal, Manipur and Nagaland, came together. On July 28, the GNF started the "One People, One Destiny" walk, from Kohima, expecting the convergence of thousands of Nagas in Senapati Town in Manipur on July 29. The walk will be resumed after a halt at night in the Maram Naga area, Manipur.

Earthquake Of 4.8 Magnitude Jolts Manipur: NCS
The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) informed that an earthquake of 4.8 magnitude occurred in Manipur, on July 16. The earthquake occurred in the East South-east Moirang, at around 11:42 pm, and had a depth of 94 km. NCS is the nodal agency of the Indian government, that monitors earthquake activities in the country. Furthermore, on July 5, an earthquake of 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred in Assam.

Manipur Landslide: 4 More Bodies Recovered, Search For Missing Persons Underway
In Manipur, four more bodies were recovered after landslide stuck the Money district, said the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). So far, 13 Territorial Army personnel and five civilians have been rescued, said the Indian Army. Meanwhile, mortal remains of nine Territorial Army personnel and one civilian have been recovered from the site. Reportedly, the search for the missing persons is underway. Further details are awaited.

Massive Landslide Kills 7 & Leaves 13 Injured In Manipur's Noney; Rescue Operations Underway
In Manipur's Noney district, a massive landslide which struck near a railway construction camp has resulted in the death of seven persons, and left 13 others injured. According to Home Minister Amit Shah, rescue operations are underway and National Disaster Response Force personnel are on site. Reportedly, the landslides were caused due to incessant rains, and so far, 19 persons have been rescued.

Man Confesses To 3 Bomb Blasts In Imphal, Says Was Paid Rs 30,000: Manipur
Manipur police has arrested a 46-year-old man, who is believed to be responsible for a string of low-intensity blasts in and around city, in the recent weeks. The accused identified as Thounaojam Rishi Luwangcha has been arrested and explosives, detonators and cordtex wires have been seized from his possession. According to the police, Thounaojam confessed to his crime, and said that he was paid Rs 30,000 for each blasts.
