Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Monday arrive in Manipur on a four-day visit during which he will hold several rounds of security meetings to assess the situation and plan steps to restore normalcy, sources said. This is Shah's first visit to the northeastern state since the ethnic clashes broke out on May 3. The home minister will be in the state from May 29 to June 1.

In Manipur’s Imphal, a fake currency racket has been busted by Imphal East police, which was functioning at Urup Kangthak and Keirao villages. From the raid, the police recovered 3,790 suspected World is Yours (WY) drugs, 60 grams of heroin, 26 bundles, 89 numbers of 500 fake currency notes and 101 numbers of 500 fake currency uncut sheets. To support the Global Naga Forum (GNF) organised a two-day Naga Solidarity walk, hundreds of Nagas from Assam, Arunachal, Manipur and Nagaland, came together. On July 28, the GNF started the "One People, One Destiny" walk, from Kohima, expecting the convergence of thousands of Nagas in Senapati Town in Manipur on July 29. The walk will be resumed after a halt at night in the Maram Naga area, Manipur.

In Manipur, four more bodies were recovered after landslide stuck the Money district, said the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). So far, 13 Territorial Army personnel and five civilians have been rescued, said the Indian Army. Meanwhile, mortal remains of nine Territorial Army personnel and one civilian have been recovered from the site. Reportedly, the search for the missing persons is underway. Manipur police has arrested a 46-year-old man, who is believed to be responsible for a string of low-intensity blasts in and around city, in the recent weeks. The accused identified as Thounaojam Rishi Luwangcha has been arrested and explosives, detonators and cordtex wires have been seized from his possession. According to the police, Thounaojam confessed to his crime, and said that he was paid Rs 30,000 for each blasts.
