Maratha Reservation Which Led To Violence In Maharashtra Is Old Demand
The demand for Maratha Reservation is long pending demand, that has led to raging violence across Maharashtra, saw a long legal battle with the Supreme Court in 2021, that resulted in the court calling the issue "unconstitutional". A curative petition mentioned before the bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud for urgent listing last month, is set to be heard in due course by the Supreme Court.

NCP Leader Prakash Solanke's Home Set On Fire, Visuals Surface Online
The Maratha Reservation movement is gaining momentum as violence and stone-pelting videos go viral on social media platforms. Protestors attacked the house of NCP MLA Prakash Solanke in Maharashtra's Majalgain in Beed district. The crowd also set vehicles on fire, as they were angered over his remarks on the hunger strike by pro-quota activist Manoj Patil. MP Samabhaji Raje Announces Movement For Maratha Quota From June 16
After cancellation of Maratha reservation, Rajya Sabha MP Sambhaji Raje has announced to start agitation from the Shahu Maharaj Samadhi Sthal on June 16. On the 348th coronation anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj, his descendant Sambhaji on June 6 addressed a crowd at Raigad. Raje said, the protest will be for the 70% poor from the community. Notably, the SC, terming the Maratha quota as ‘unconstitutional’ nullified it on May 5.
