Vice Presidential Election 2022: Voting To Begin, Dhankar & Alva In Fray
The voting for the election of new Vice President of India will be held on August 6. Current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu's tenure will come to an end on August 10. National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Vice Presidential candidate is West Bengal governor Jadgeep Dhankar, who filed his nomination on July 18. Meanwhile, opposition's candidate is former Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva, who filed her nomination on July 19.

TRS Announces Support To Margaret Alva For Vice Presidential Elections
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) announced to support Margaret Alva, the opposition candidate for the Vice President elections. On August 5, TRS leader Keshav Rao said, TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao decided to support Alva against the BJP candidate for the vice presidential election Jagdeep Dhankar. Notably, Margaret Alva is likely to meet TRS MPs in Delhi, on August 5 evening. Moreover, VP elections are scheduled on 6th August.

UPA Candidate Margaret Alva Files Nomination For Vice Presidential Elections
Margaret Alva (80) joint opposition candidate for the vice presidential election filed her nomination papers for the post on July 19. Alva, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate filed her papers against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Jagdeep Dhankar. Notably, the VP elections are scheduled to be held on August 6, as the term of M Venkaiah Naidu is set to end on August 10.

Congress Chooses Former Union Minister Margaret Alva As Vice Presidential Candidate
Former Union Minister and veteran Congress member Margaret Alva is the opposition's choice for the position of vice president of India, according to NCP leader Sharad Pawar. "We are all together in this election," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said. The NDA's choice for vice president of India was declared by the BJP on July 16 as Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhakhar.
