Social Media giant Facebook is likely to launch its Portable version of the Portal video calling devices. Reportedly, the company is looking forward to entering the digital device market after the launch. According to the reports, the portal device will cost around $199 (USD). However, the first line of the device was launched in 2018. Moreover, the company is planning to add the Microsoft Team's feature to the device.

In an interview, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said he wants to transform Facebook from just a social media network into a "metaverse company" within the next five years as he believes "people should not live through small glowing rectangles". Sharing his vision for Facebook's future, Zuckerberg added that once transformed, Facebook's metaverse will be accessible across different platforms including VR, AR, PC, and mobile devices.

Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC), a Boston-based non-profit organisation along with 99 other child safety groups and experts came forward to urge Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to stop the launch of Instagram for kids. CCFC cited that the app being developed for children below 13 will hamper the mental health and privacy of children. Moreover CCFC claimed that the ‘image obsessed’ platform will challenge adolescents well-being.
