Assam: Baghjan Fire Fully Extinguished After 172 days

The massive fire at Baghjan oil well in Assam has been completely extinguished after 172 days, on November 15. "Further operation to abandon the well is in progress," said a spokesperson of Oil India Limited (OIL). Reportedly, the fire had killed three people. Earlier, the well in Tinsukia district caught fire on June 9 after it suffered a gas leakage on May 27. The incident has also led to migration of locals.

Kolkata: Massive Fire Leaves 50 to 60 Huts Burnt

On November 10 a fire accident broke out in Kolkata's Topsia area which left 50 to 60 huts burnt down. However, no casualties have been reported from the incident. The rescue operation was initiated with ten fire tenders positioned on the spot. CM Mamata Banerjee along with the  Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Basu, visited the area soon.

A massive fire broke out in a chemical factory in Bangalore's Babujinagar on November 10. However, the four people inside the factory at the time are safe. Himachal Pradesh: CM Announces Aid For Fire Affected Families in Kinnaur

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has instructed the district administration to provide the people of the fire-affected areas in Kinnaur, a financial aid of Rs 10,000. Reportedly, due to a fire that broke out in Purbani,10 houses sustained damages. However, no casualties have been reported and the concerned authorities have already dispatched the aid to the people.

Mumbai's City Central Mall Witnesses Massive Fire; Two Injured

A massive fire broke out in Mumbai's City Central Mall in the late night of October 22, injuring two fire fighters. Around 3,500 people have been evacuated from the neighborhood. Reportedly, the fire broke out at a shop in the second floor and spread over to the third floor. The fire brigade reached the spot with 24 fire engines and 16 jumbo water-tankers. However, no casualty has been reported yet.

Odisha: 9 Injured In Bhubaneswar In An Explosion As Tank Catches Fire

A tank with compressed natural gas at a petrol pump caught fire and exploded near governor house in Odisha's Bhubaneswar on October 7. It took two hours to control the fire and nine people have been injured in the incident. According to eyewitnesses the massive explosion felt like an ‘earthquake’ and several nearby buildings were damaged. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has announced free treatment for the people injured in explosion.

Pune: Fire Breaks Out in A Chemical Solvent Manufacturing Unit; No Casualties Reported

According to reports, a chemical solvent manufacturing unit witnessed a massive fire outbreak, on October 1. A fire brigade official said that the fire broke out during the early hours, when the drums containing mixed solvents started exploding. Reportedly, firefighters rushed to turn off the flames and rescued 12 people along with two dogs. The official added that, no casualties had been reported, and the cooling operation was underway.

Lebanon Army Says It Found 1.3 Tonnes of Fireworks at Beirut Port

The Lebanon army on September 18 revealed that it found around 1.3 tonnes of fireworks while searching the Beirut Port. About 1,320 kgs of fireworks were found in 120 boxes in the warehouse, it stated. However, it said the army engineers had disposed of the fireworks. In August, the port was destroyed due to a massive blast that, reportedly, was caused by huge quantity of chemicals kept in poor conditions.

J&K: Massive Fire Breaks Out in Ramban District, None Injured

A huge fire broke out at a village in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, destroying at least 28 shops and a residential house, on September 18. Nazim Zai Khan, Deputy Commissioner stated that a team of firefighters had rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames. The cause of the fire break out is still unknown and, as of now, no casualties have been reported, he added.
