Taking a jibe at the opposition BJP's claims of Maharashtra's COVID-19 deaths being underreported, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that there are no rivers in Mumbai to dump bodies. Pednekar said, “All Covid deaths in Mumbai are recorded at three places, so the data can't be hidden". Recently, BJP-ruled Bihar and UP were also criticised for under reporting COVID deaths and burying dead bodies along riverside.
Amid the Covid-19 crisis, citizens of Mumbai can now get information about the availability of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and ventilators in hospitals of the city through a new mobile app, Mayor Kishori Pednekar has said. It would help people during emergency situations, she said after launching the 'Air-Venti' app on June 17. Mumbai has reported 61,587 coronavirus cases.
