Mazar-e-Sharif

After capturing Kandahar, the Taliban has now seized the fourth largest city of Afghanistan namely Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balk province. Furthermore, the group is looking for the capture of two major cities that include Kabul and Jalalabad. However, it already controls ''about 20 of Afghanistan's 30 provinces''. ''Remobilizing the Afghan security and defense forces is our top priority,'' said Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani.
