Gujarat Receives Highest Rs 608 Crore Funds For Sports, Bags 0 Medal At Asian Cup

India won 107 medals in the Asian games concluded recently. Speaking about the state wise wins, Haryana secured 44 medals, Punjab (32,) Maharashtra (31) UP (21,)Tamil Nadu (17,) WB(13,) Rajasthan (13) and Mizoram (1.) What is interesting about this, is Gujarat which received highest Rs 608 crores for sports, won zero medal at the Asian Cup. The data was shared by X user, questioning Gujarat sports development with funds.

Neeraj Chopra Aims Medal At Maiden World Championship, Goes To Finals

Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra qualified for his maiden World Championships final. On July 22, Chopra gave a stunning first attempt throw of 88.39m here, and secured his place in the finals of the championship. The 24-year-old Indian, opened the men's javelin throw Group A qualification round with to 88.39m throw.  This is his third career-best throw, for another medal. The medal round will be held on Sunday (7:05am IST).

Home Minister's Special Operation Medal To Now Be Given To Officials Of CBIC

Apart from the police department, officials from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs are now eligible for the Union home minister's special operation medal. The medal is awarded for the actions taken by the personnel in preventing narcotics smuggling. In 2021, about 397 personnel received the award, whereas only 39 recieved it in 2020 and 46 in 2019.

Indian Women's Trio Bags Bronze In 10m Pistol Shooting World Cup

Indian Women's Trio team Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Rahi Sarnobat wins bronze medal in the 10m air pistol women's event at the ISSF shooting World cup on June 25. The team wins third position with a score of 573 after defeating the Hungarian team. Meanwhile, the men's trio team lost in the 10m air rifle match and the women's team failed to enter qualifying round.

Shiva Thapa Enters Semis Of Asian Boxing C'ship For 5th Time In Row

Indian boxer Shiva Thapa (64kg) on May 25 defeated Kuwait's Nader Odah in the quarter-finals of the Asian Boxing Championship in Dubai. Winning the one-sided bout with 5-0, Thapa has entered the semi-finals, securing his fifth consecutive medal in the championship. Earlier, the boxer had bagged gold in 2013, silver in 2017 and bronze in 2015 and 2019 editions of the tournament.
