Speaking about the state wise wins, Haryana secured 44 medals, Punjab (32,) Maharashtra (31) UP (21,)Tamil Nadu (17,) WB(13,) Rajasthan (13) and Mizoram (1.) What is interesting about this, is Gujarat which received highest Rs 608 crores for sports, won zero medal at the Asian Cup. Apart from the police department, officials from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs are now eligible for the Union home minister's special operation medal. The medal is awarded for the actions taken by the personnel in preventing narcotics smuggling. In 2021, about 397 personnel received the award, whereas only 39 recieved it in 2020 and 46 in 2019.

Indian boxer Shiva Thapa (64kg) on May 25 defeated Kuwait's Nader Odah in the quarter-finals of the Asian Boxing Championship in Dubai. Winning the one-sided bout with 5-0, Thapa has entered the semi-finals, securing his fifth consecutive medal in the championship. Earlier, the boxer had bagged gold in 2013, silver in 2017 and bronze in 2015 and 2019 editions of the tournament.
