Kerala Govt Bars Medical Officers From Speaking To Media Without Permission
In the latest development, the health department of the Kerala government barred medical officers and health workers from speaking to media without prior permission on December 5. ''In case of an emergency where it's necessary to provide the information they need to verify the facts and get prior sanction from the department,'' said the order. Reportedly, it will reduce misinformation to public about the spread of Covid-19.

CNN Terminates 3 Unvaccinated Employees Working From Office
Three employees of CNN have been fired for violating the company’s “honour system” as they were working from office unvaccinated, stated CNN President Jeff Zucker in an internal email memo. In a tweet shared by a senior media reporter of CNN mentioned that Zucker wrote, “Let me be clear — we have a zero-tolerance policy on this.” However, no name of the office has been mentioned in which the termination took place.

Myanmar Junta Media Accuse 'Ethnic Armed Group' Of Murder And Abduction
Myanmar's junta-controlled media alleged that an ethnic armed group murdered 25 construction workers in the eastern part of the country after kidnapping 47 people in May. According to a newspaper in Myanmar, On June 11, seven bodies were discovered, one of which was burned and the others with their wrists tied behind their backs. The report further stated that, 18 more bodies were found on June 12.

Stop Complaining On Media Reports Covering Court Proceedings: SC To EC
The Supreme Court on May 6 lashed out at the Election Commission asking to stop complaining on media reports. The courts response came after the commission complained about media reports on Madras HC's oral observations of booking EC for murder charges for failing to control election rallies. The SC said, the Constitution gives the freedom to speech and expression to media and it will not be restricted from covering court proceedings.

China Warns India Media To Not Meddle In Internal Matters
The Chinese government has urged Indian media to not intervene in its internal affairs and disrupt the bilateral ties with India. A release from the government read, "We hope some Indian media take an objective and fair stance on issues concerning China's sovereignty and territorial integrity". Moreover, the government said that it "firmly opposes" any entity that supports anti-China separatist activities of the "Tibetan independence".

Prasar Bharati Bars Employees From Talking To Media Without Permission
Prasar Bharti has barred all the employees of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD) from interacting with media without prior permission from "the competent authority". Prasar Bharti had issued two such orders earlier also - first in November 2019 and second in February this year. SSR Case: Shiv Sena Urges BJP and Media To Apologize, Says They Defamed The Govt
Shiv Sena, on October 5, accused the BJP and media for defaming the state government and demanded an apology from them. The demand came following the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) report, that ruled out the chances of murder in Sushant Singh Rajput's case.
