Kerala Govt Bars Medical Officers From Speaking To Media Without Permission
In the latest development, the health department of the Kerala government barred medical officers and health workers from speaking to media without prior permission on December 5. ''In case of an emergency where it's necessary to provide the information they need to verify the facts and get prior sanction from the department,'' said the order. Reportedly, it will reduce misinformation to public about the spread of Covid-19.

Govt Nods DG AFMS To Recruit Ex-Army Med Officers To Aid COVID Crisis
The Defence Ministry has ordered the DG Armed Forces Medical Services to recruit ex-Army Medical Corps/Short Service Commission officers on a contractual basis. Recruited for maximum 11 months, the ex-army will aid the civil administration in its fight with COVID-19 under the 'Tour Of Duty' scheme. Two Health Officers Suspended In Connection To COVID Deaths In Kolar
Two health officers including the district surgeon were suspended on April 28 citing medical negligence where five died due to COVID-19 at Karnataka's Kolar district SNR Hospital. The state Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar agreed to the lapses in treating COVID-19 patients at the district hospital. Reportedly, the suspended officers have left 40 oxygen ventilators unused that could have been used in the treatment of the deceased.
