Thailand, First Asian Country To Legalize Marijuana For Medical Purposes Only

Thailand decriminalized marijuana growing and possession on June 9. Thailand is Asia's first country to legalize marijuana. Uruguay and Canada are the only nations that have legalized recreational marijuana on a national level so far. The government stated that it is solely pushing cannabis for medical purposes, warning people who want to smoke for pleasure can face a three-month prison sentence and a fine of 25,000 Thai baht.
