Chief Mehbooba Mufti Tweets, Says Detained Under 'House Arrest'

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on August 5, claimed she and some senior leaders of her party were placed under house arrest while several others were detained on the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. Taking to Twitter, Mufti said, “I’ve been put under house arrest along with other senior PDP leaders today. GOI's false claims about normalcy to the SC stands exposed by their actions driven by paranoia,”

Mehbooba Mufti Detained By Delhi Police

Former CM of J&K Mehbooba Mufti, who planned to protest against the encroachment drive of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Administration has been detained. On February 8, Mufti organised a march from Railway Bhavan to Parliament but was prevented by the Delhi Police. As per sources, Mufti wanted the politicians to inform about the "bulldozer policy" in J&K, which is troubling the people.

Mehbooba Mufti Criticises ECI's Decision Of Allowing Outsiders As Voters In J&K

In Jammu & Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti expressed displeasure over the Election Commission Of India's decision to add 25 lakh voters, including that outside of union territory. On August 18, Mufti said, the decision is the "last nail on the coffin of democracy". Notably, after the abrogation of Article 370, this is the first election being held in Jammu and Kashmir.

ED Warrants PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti In Money Laundering Case

For a money laundering case investigation, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned PDP chief and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Reportedly, Mehbooba has been asked to appear in the ED headquarters in Delhi on March 15 for enquiry. Moreover, the agency has filed the case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Earlier in 2020, the leader was released after being detained for more than a year.
