1 Arrested For Allegedly Raping Mentally Challenged Woman: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra's Palghar district, Manor police on February 13, has arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly raping a mentally challenged woman. The accused has been raping woman for the past five-months. The accused is a resident of Palgarh district of Dapchari Sutar Pada in the area Vikramgarh. The family registered a case to the nearest police station after they got to know about the woman's pregnancy.

Mentally Challenged Beggar Who Used To Take Re 1 As Alms Passes Away
Basava, a 45-year-old mentally challenged beggar passed away in the Ballary district of Karnataka on November 13. People put banners of him across the city, and thousands of people came to attend his funeral. Reportedly, Basava used to take only Re 1 as alms, and used to return the rest of the amount. Besides, people used to consider him as their good luck.

Teenager Returns To Foster Mother To Celebrate Her Birthday
A month after being returned to his biological parents, 19-year-old Mohammad Amir travelled from Madhya Pradesh to Nagpur to celebrate his foster mother's birthday on July 12. Lost as an eight-year-old, the mentally challenged Amir could not help the police locate his family. Thus, he came under the care of Samarth Damle and his wife who kept him after their social care home shut down.
