Mumbai Metro Phase-1 Will Be Operational In December End

In Mumbai, phase-1 of the metro line, Bandra Kurla Complex to densely congested MIDC Marol Naka, or Terminals 1 and 2, is said to be operational from year end, announced the concerned authority. According to sources, phase 3 of the Metro Line 3 or ‘Aqua Line’ Metro Rail Corridor that links South Mumbai’s Colaba/Cuffe Parade to BKC to Aarey Colony and SEEPZ, all set to become fully operational in December-January.

Greater Noida & Jewar International Airport To Be Connected By 35-Km Metro Route

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has presented the Detailed Project Report to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority regarding the Noida Metro-Noida International Airport in Jewar. Maharashtra Cabinet To Approve 44% Hike In Metro 3 Colaba Bandra Cost

After Cabinet expansion, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde will hold its first cabinet meeting and likely to approve Rs. 33,405.82 crore from Rs 3,136 crore, a rise of Rs 10,269.82 crore for metro project. The 44% hike in the budget will be for Metro 3 Colaba Bandra SEEPZ project, on August 10. Reason behind cost escalation is that Metro 3 stations have to accommodate eight coaches, besides expensive labour-accomodation charges.

Trains Run More Frequently During Non-Peak Hours On Bengaluru Metro

Beginning on August 8, BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited) boosted the number of trains during non-peak hours. Metro trains will now operate every day at 15-minute intervals between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Previously, Bengaluru metro trains operated at 20-minute intervals. The decision to increase metro train frequency was made to benefit passengers who travel late at night and early in the morning.

YouTuber Gaurav Taneja Granted Bail After Being Detained For Birthday Celebration At Metro Station

Hours after being detained by Noida Police, YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, also known as "Flying Beast," received bail. He was detained on July 9 when his fans gathered at Noida's Sector 51 Metro Station for his birthday celebration at his request. He was apprehended for breaching Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure which is in force in Noida and Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).

Hyderabad Metro Launches Super-Saver Festive Card For Travels On Listed Holidays

On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Corporation Limited launched a super-saver festive metro card. Available for Rs 50, the card will allow unlimited metro travel covering 57 stations, and three routes with a recharge of Rs 59 only. However, the offer will be valid only on the listed 100 holidays, throughout the year. KVB Reddy said, "This special offer reinforces our commitment to passengers".

Delhi Govt Imposes Weekend Curfew; Metro To Operate At 100% Capacity

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) imposed a weekend curfew in the national capital to curb the spread of COVID-19. Meanwhile, nobody will be allowed to travel for non-essential reasons. Moreover, government offices, barring essential services, have been asked to allow their employees to work from home. Private offices can operate at 50% capacity. However, buses and metro can run at 100% seating capacity, as per the order.

MP CM Lays Foundation Stone Of Indore Metro Rail Work

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone of metro works in Indore, on December 25. It is a project of Rs 7,500 crore and includes 16 metro stations. The metro service is being developed ''in a ring shape starting and ending at the Indore Airport''. "Clean city Indore and smart city Indore, will soon become a metro city also," said Chouhan at the ceremony.
