23,000 Year Old Footprints Found In US: New Chapter In Human History

Ancient footprints have been found in the United States dating back 23,000 years, implying that people inhabited North America much before the end of the last Ice Age, as per a study published in the journal Science on September 23. The footprints were discovered in silt on the shores of a long-dried-up lake, now part of the New Mexico desert. Reportedly, the sediments were marked and solidified into hard rock.

8 Dead, 3 Missing As Hurricane Grace Hits Mexico

Hurricane Grace hit the eastern parts of Mexico, claiming the lives of eight people and leaving three injured, on August 21. The hurricane speeds up the wind up to 205 km per hour and caused severe floods in over 20 municipalities in Veracruz, the collapse of roads, and the failure of electricity. The tropical season which started on May 15 in Mexico is expected to end in November.

Gas Leak Catches Fire On Ocean Surface Off Mexico; Flames Extinguished

According to the state oil company Pemex, a gas leak from an underwater pipeline that sparked a fire on the ocean surface at the west of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula was extinguished on July 2. However, it took more than five hours to blow off the fire completely. Besides, an investigation is being conducted at Pemex, as the company has a history of industrial accidents at its facilities.

2-Year-Old Kid Sent To Welfare After Found Abandoned In Mexico

Mexico's immigration officials have come across a truck previously crammed with 100 migrants trying to enter the US border on June 28. However, the authorities have discovered an abandoned 2-year-old kid along with a 25-year-old dead man and eight others. After the doors were opened, most of the migrants ran into the vegetation near the highway, said one of the survivors.

3,787 Bone Fragments Found In Serial Killer's House: Mexico

The Mexican investigators conducted a search on the house of a suspected serial killer, in the process they found 3,787 pieces of bone fragments belonging to 17 different people. Authorities also found several identification cards of various people who went missing over the years. Reportedly, another search would be conducted to check the soil under the rooms of the house which the suspect used to rent out to other people.
