MHA Writes To Recommend Names For President's Police Medal Award
Ministry of Home Affairs wrote a letter to all the Sates, UTs, CAPFs, Central agencies to recommend names for the President's Police Medal award for Distinguished service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day. The letter mentioned all the recommendations needed to submit by May 15. Similar letter sent to DIB, CBI, SPG, NEPA. Secretary of R&AW and Cabinet Secretary asked to send selected names.

Aadhar Card Not Compulsory To File Online National Award Nominations: MHA

Indo-China Border Security Budget Increased By 6 Folds: MHA
The Ministry of Home Affairs informed Lok Sabha that the budget allocated for the border security in the northeastern area, were increased by six folds in year 2021-22. The statement came after MP Dilip Saikia raised a question regarding the funds allocated for the said purpose. Reportedly, Rs 42.87 crore were allocated for the Indo-China border security in the year 2020-21. Whereas in 2021-22, Rs 249.12 crore were allocated.

PM Modi's Ferozepur Visit Cancelled Due To Security Lapse: MHA
PM Narendra Modi cancelled his Punjab's Ferozepur visit due to a security lapse, on January 5. The decision came after his convoy was blocked by some protestors on a flyover on his way to the city. The MHA called the State Government responsible for ''major security lapses'' and sought a detailed report. Govt Warns People Of Cybercriminals Offering Free Omicron Test
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) warned citizens of cybercriminals who are offering a free test for detecting COVID-19's Omicron variant. Reportedly, cybercriminals send emails regarding the test and attain the personal details and banking credentials of people. The Ministry also advised people not to use those links and scrutinize the domain name and URL of the websites before applying for the test.

70% Pakistani Awaits Indian Citizenship, Says Union MHA Minister
At least 70% Pakistani awaits Indian citizenship, said the Ministry of Home Affairs, on December 22. MHA Minister Nityanand Rai said, a total of 7,306 people applied for citizenship from Pakistan, 1,152 applications are from Afghanistan, 428 states are stateless, 223 from Sri Lanka and the US, 189 from Nepal, 161 from Bangladesh and 10 from China. Notably, all the 10,635 applicants, applied for citizenship till December 14 2021.

MHA Provides Work From Home Option For Officers
With rising Covid-19 cases in Delhi, the Ministry of Home Affairs has put forth a work-from-home option for 50% of its undersecretary level officers on April 16. But deputy secretary and employees above that rank will have to report to the office anytime between 9 am to 10 am to avoid rush during the commute. Employees from containment zones have been exempted from coming to the office.
