IAF Recovers Critical Equipment Of Mi-17V5 Helicopter From Chopper Crash Site

Indian Air Force on December 9, retrieved critical equipment of the Mi-17V5 helicopter that crashed in Tamil Nadu on December 8. The Flight Data Recorder and the Cockpit Voice Recorder of the chopper have been recovered. CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives in the military helicopter crash. Rajnath Singh stated that the inquiry of the case will be led by Air Marshal Manavendra Singh.

CAG Disagrees With Upgradation Of 56 Mi-17 Helicopters, Calls It Unproductive

CAG stated that retrofitting 56 Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force is not a sound decision. Currently operating at limited capability, after upgradation, the choppers will be left with a 2-year life; hence, 223 crore expenditure would be unproductive, stated CAG.
