In the co-main event, Michael Chandler defeated Tony Ferguson via a head-kick knockout in the second round. Earlier in the event, Carla Esparza came out victorious in a five-round battle against Rose Namajunas. Ovince Saint Preux edged a decision victory against veteran Maricio Shogun Rua. 

Charles Oliveira has claimed the UFC lightweight title with a technical knockout victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 262 on May 16. Oliveira's victory came in 19 seconds of the second round when he caught Chandler with a left-hook followed by a barrage of punches on the ground. With this win, Oliveira extended his winning streak to nine while giving Chandler his first loss in the UFC.

Former two-division champion Conor McGregor looks determined to cancel his fight against Dustin Poirier as he put out a tweet searching for his next opponent. McGregor wrote, "Looking to start the foundations of a good fight you guys, who's in? McGregor Vs ...?" As of now, fighters like Michael Chandler, Kevin Lee, Rafael Dos Anjos and Michael Johnson have checked in their name for UFC 264.

Former three-time Bellator MMA champion Michael Chandler is set to debut at UFC 257 in the co-main event against sixth-ranked Dan Hooker. Scheduled for January 23 in Abu Dhabi, the fight would take place in the lightweight division (66-70 kg). Chandler, designated among Bellator's most decorated fighter, had signed with UFC in 2020. Meanwhile, Hooker will be eying for a comeback from June 2020 defeat to Dustin Poirier.
