Karnataka's Decision To Retain Eggs In School Meals Approved By Centre In 7 Districts
The Karnataka government's plan to maintain eggs on the mid-day meal menus of seven backward districts in the coming academic year has been authorized by the Centre. Many religious diviners in the state were against the pilot program. Only Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Kalburgi, Koppal, Bellary, and Vijayapura would benefit from the expansion. The Centre has instructed the state government to supply the eggs by the third quarter of 2022-23.

Mid-Day Meals To Be Served On Dining Table With 'Dignity': MP
In MP government schools, students can now have "dignified Mid-Day meals" by sitting on dining tables, a departure from the current system of dining on the mat floor. Rural development minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia recommended the idea of installing benches for the students in Guna district, MP. The scheme is worth 50,000 per school and aims to cover 100 schools under 80 Grampanchyat in Bamori.

80% Govt School Students Did Not Get Online Education During Lockdown: OXFAM
In a survey by Oxfam India, over 80% of parents expressed that the online education was not delivered in government schools during the lockdown period. Venkaiah Naidu Suggests Including Milk for Children in the Mid-Day Meal Scheme
On September 7, M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India, suggested providing the children with milk as a part of their breakfast in addition to the mid-day meal scheme, to improve their nutritional levels. On informing the suggestion to the Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani, she assured that the Central government would recommend all the states to include milk in the mid-day meal scheme.
